AFTER REPLACING HER AIMS in the film industry with photography, Bree Seeley completed her degree at Ryerson in 1995. Since then she has established herself as a facilitator to photographers both as a buyer and seller of photography ricocheting between Photo Editor and artist agent in Toronto, New York and London. Bree is currently Editorial Director of Magnum Photos at the UK bureau. Bree will be speaking about her move from making pictures to working with photographers and share her point of view regarding what is happening in editorial today – where a fusion of fine art tendencies, cult of personality and cache make for a challenging minefield of politics. She will also recap the history of Magnum Photos and illustrate the surprising changes taking place within the institution, this ‘first name’ in documentary photography.
